The XT815-M is a household prepaid water meter built around the STS (Standard Transfer Specification) prepayment protocol. Water is purchased in advance and loaded into the meter as a 20-digit encrypted token, so no card and no physical recharge point is required — tokens can be distributed by SMS, by a sales office terminal, or through a mobile top-up channel.
A motorised ball valve is built into the meter body. When the credit runs down the valve warns the user by closing once; when credit is exhausted it closes and stays locked until a new token is entered. Every recharge event is written back to the management system, which keeps the utility’s billing data and the meter’s stored credit in step.
