The XT815-U pairs the same STS prepayment logic as the XT815-M with an ultrasonic measuring tube. Because there is no impeller, no gear train and no mechanical wear, the meter keeps its accuracy over a long service life instead of slowly under-registering as a mechanical meter does.
It is aimed at projects where the utility wants prepayment and metering accuracy at the same time: high-rise residential blocks with zoned metering, student dormitories, and commercial complexes where the landlord bills tenants on measured consumption.
